Maria Sharkova is Healthcare Attorney and the managing partner of “Sharkova and Partners” Attorney Company. Her work is dedicated to the problems of medical law, management of healthcare settings, public health law, healthcare legislation and litigation. Prior becoming a lawyer, she worked as an interpreter/researcher for BBC, UK and True Vision Productions. She is part of the Association of Bulgarian Leaders and Entrepreneurs (ABLE). She was honored with the prestigious “Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Award”, provided by the USA Department of State and Fulbright Commission in 2015-2016. She continued her specialization at the 7-th ranked Rollins school of Public Health, Emory University, and the Law School, part Emory University, Atlanta. She took additional courses in organisations such as the CDC, IHI, Institute Pasteur and the Center for conflict resolution in Healthcare, Memphis. She has a number of publication and has been a lecturer at many conferences and workshops. She is the CEO of the “National Consultative Center for Medical Law”.
