On 27.01.2017 Teodor Sedlarski was appointed as the caretaker Minister of Economy by decree of the President Rumen Radev.

Since 2015 he is the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University.

He has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Business Administration/Organizational Development obtained at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. He specialized “New Institutional Economics: at the University of Economics in Vienna, Austria and in 2009 he accomplished a scientific specialization within the Ph.D. programme “Organization and Culture” at the University of Economics, Law and Social Sciences in St. Gallen, Switzerland. In 2009 Sedlarski obtained his Ph.D. in Economics at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

Since 2005 Teodor Sedlarski has been working at the Economics Department within the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. He is a lecturer in the following subjects: economic theories, labour economics, macroeconomics and microeconomics.

He acts as co-chairman of the French-German Centre for Applied Research in Economics and Management at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and head of the Centre for Economic Theories and Policies at Sofia University.
