Paul Swaddle

Founder and Chairman, Pocket App

A self-confessed ‘gadget geek,’ Paul Swaddle has been working at the leading edge of mobile technology for over 15 years. He co-founded Pocket App, the UK’s largest independent app developer, in 2011 to bring the creative and technical development elements of mobile technology together under one roof, leading the company as CEO until he assumed the role of chairman in June 2016.  Under Paul’s leadership, and with its unique approach to app development, Pocket App truly stands out in today’s increasingly competitive market.

With extensive industry knowledge and a renowned reputation in the mobile sector, Paul regularly speaks and offers thought leadership on app development, mobile trends and business. He recently acted as a mentor in the Mayor’s International Business Program, spoke at the University of Kent’s App Development Conference and was even headhunted to appear as a guest  judge in the final of the acclaimed BBC Television programme, The Apprentice.

Away from the day job, Paul was awarded an OBE in the 2014 New Year’s Honours List for his volunteer services within a political party, and has also sat on the board of Young Enterprise Reading, the UK’s largest business and enterprise education charity, which aims to inspire young people to learn and succeed through business.

Paul is actively involved in Byte Night, an annual sleep out which raises money for Action for Children. As well as participating in the annual sleep out every October, Paul is on the Thames Valley Byte Night board, helping to ensure the event goes from strength to strength.
