IoT is all about the interconnection of systems, people and everyday objects to capture and analyze information – think connected cars and home automation systems working together and sharing data to simplify our lives. Drawing on his 14 years of experience in the machine-to-machine (M2M), IoT and telecommunications sectors, Shawn consults for IoT companies on how to build their businesses around customer outcomes.  He recently led the TELUS IoT team where the focus was around improving the lives of consumers, generating economic benefits for government & businesses, and transforming organizations.  

Throughout his career, Shawn has worked on significant IoT projects for major companies including HP and Siemens. His experience spans a number of industries including Oil and Gas, Automotive, Government, Transportation and Finance, while living across the globe in Toronto, Vancouver, San Diego, Seattle, Munich, Bangkok and, most recently, in Singapore.

Prior to consulting, Shawn led the TELUS IoT practice, was a partner in a private equity fund and an international consultant for Jasper Wireless helping them secure expansion for their IoT connected device platform across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.   

Shawn has a degree in Economics from the University of Guelph, a background in science and technology, and as a youth was recognized as a three-time winner of the Canada Wide Science Fair (CWSF).
