Stefan Stoyanov


Born in Plovdiv in 1982, he finished his secondary high school education at the 91st German Language School in Sofia. Later he graduated Bachelor of "Bulgarian Philology" at the University of Sofia “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

During his studies he worked as a journalist and editor at TV Europa. From 2005 until his inauguration as a Deputy Mayor of Plovdiv in 2011, he was engaged in the private sector with development and promotion of online media, media monitoring and analysis, advertising and PR-campaigns.

Since November 2011 he is a deputy mayor responsible for culture, education, tourism, innovations, development and European policies. and Currently is deputy mayor responsible for Education, business development, European policies and international cooperation.

He is one of the four Bulgarians selected in the New Europe 100 ranking - a list of 100 changemakers in Central and Eastern Europe selected by Warsaw-based journal Res Publica, Google, state-supported Visegrad Fund and the Financial Times.
