Ignacio Juliá is currently CEO of Model Bank, a strategic digital transformation program that drives the integration of four local retail banks into one cross-country customer engagement platform, serving seven million customers in Spain, France, Italy, and the Czech Republic. He is also responsible for ING’s retail business in these four countries.
Prior to this, he served as Global Head of Retail for ING Group, responsible for the global performance and strategy of the Retail segment across all geographies. He had a leading role in ING’s transformation towards one united platform for our Retail customers.
From 2016 to 2018, Ignacio combined the roles of Chief Innovation Officer for ING Group and Head of Retail segment for ING’s ‘Challengers & Growth’ region. Before this, he led ING’s retail business in Poland - ING Bank Śląski - and in Spain – ING Direct. In both countries, he led the transition to a truly digital and customer-oriented organization. Ignacio started his career in finance in 1999 after graduating from CUNEF (Business Administration & Economics). He moved through several positions - CFO and CRO for ING Bank in Spain amongst others - before he finally moved to Business to find his true passion.
In his 20 years of banking experience, he has served in many relevant positions within ING. His track record in finance, innovation and retail give him a broad perspective on Banking and ING’s future and very strong drive for customers and innovation.
Ignacio completed the General Management Program at CEPED-INSEAD in Fontainebleau and the Stanford Executive Program (SEP) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in California.
