Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia is responsible for implementing policy in three areas - environment protection, regional development as well as information and communication technologies. In 2018 elected to the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia, has been a member of the Riga City Council, as well as the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy. 

Is the co-Chair of the “Attīstībai/Par” political party and the Head of the “Latvijas attīstībai” political party forming the association. The Party has fully integrated into the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE). Is a professor at the University of Latvia and has been a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Latvia.

Have always advocated a constructive and rational policy focused on cooperation.
