Nigel Verdon

Webit Speaker, Founder, Currency Cloud; Partner, Orange Growth Capital

Nigel is a partner at FinTech specialist venture capital fund Orange Growth Capital. He has worked in the FinTech sector for over 20 years both within the capital markets world and as an entrepreneur in his own right.  As an entrepreneur he founded / sold Evolution Consulting Group and is the founder of the prominent FinTech start-up, Currency Cloud.  In the Capital Markets world he was part of the team that turned around the equities business at investment bank DrKW, instrumental in setting up the technology led trading business Digital Markets and responsible for selling the retail market making business (BestConnect) to ODL Securities. He is currently a seed investor in FinTech specialist fund Anthemis; on the boards of the FinTech start-ups Currency Cloud, Synops and CurrencyTransfer; advisor to BUX; mentor on the Techstars and Startup Bootcamp FinTech programmes; and a non-executive director of the FX Options hedge fund LCJ Investments.  Nigel grew up in UK, Germany, USA and Hong Kong before going to The University of Warwick and graduating with a B.Eng and an MSc.
