Webit Speaker, Head of Government Services –Visa Commercial, Visa Europe
In his current role as Head of Government Services, Visa Commercial, Jonny is responsible for the development and management of Visa Commercial programmes in the UK, Ireland and Nordics. Jonny’s primary focus is the management of the Government Procurement Card (GPC Visa) contract, and particularly commercial payments for the public sector.
With over 14 years experience of commercial card payments Jonny is responsible for advising and training member banks, users and merchants in maximising the usage and benefits of Visa Commercial Payment Solutions, particularly as part of the electronic Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process and innovative deployment of Visa Purchasing.
Jonny has worked alongside over 300 large corporate and public sector organisations implementing Visa Purchasing including the largest programmes in Europe at the Ministry of Defence, EDS Ltd and Barclays PLC.
Before joining Visa Europe in April 2007, where he held several roles and was responsible for the public sector and large corporate multi-national market segments at Barclaycard Business Commercial Cards. His management duties included developing propositions incorporating medium and short term strategy, pricing, product, promotion and customer satisfaction. He was also the leader of a number of ‘virtual teams’ and marketing channels, including the relationships with partner banks in multi-national programmes, the UK Government and professional market sector institutions.
