Daniel Nicolescu

Daniel is currently the CEO for PayU SEE, being responsible with the development of the company on the Romanian market and also on the entire South East Europe region. A business strategist with + 17 years’ experience in the IT industry, ecommerce, online payments and software distribution, he is one of the founders of the Romanian ecommerce integrator acquired by Naspers in 2010.

Prior to being appointed CEO of PayU South East Europe, Daniel was in charge with product design, development and go-to-market strategy as Chief Product Officer and also with developing strategic partnerships, corporate business and international and regional merchant relationships as Head of Business Development.

Throughout his career, he has played a major role in a number of national and international projects, including the development of RAV Antivirus, security technology sold to Microsoft in 2003 and Avangate, ecommerce, software distribution and partnership management platform dedicated to software companies around the world.
