About us

Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool Association is a Registered Charity run by a dedicated group of volunteers.

The Pool is a 25 metre "open air" heated pool. There is also a Toddler Pool which is maintained at a constant 85 degrees.

We have separate male and female changing facilities with baby changing tables and hot showers powered by solar panels.
We also have a family/disabled changing room with shower facilities.
We are able to provide a disabled chair hoist on request to assist entry and exit from the pool.
We have a well-stocked kiosk selling crisps, snacks, ice-creams and drinks to be enjoyed on our spectator terrace or in the adjoining park after your swim.  We also stock swimming goggles, armbands and swimming nappies.

Admissions Policy

The pool has a policy of following the ISRM recommendations:

- Children under 8 years old must be accompanied in the water and directly supervised at all times by a competent swimmer aged 16 or above.

- If a competent swimmer aged 16 or over is supervising one child under the age of 8, there is no requirement for the child to wear a buoyancy aid.

- A competent swimmer aged 16 or over may supervise two children under the age of 8.  However, in this instance, all children under the age of 5, and any child aged between 5 and 7 who is unable to swim one width of the pool, MUST wear a buoyancy aid.

Nappy policy – for health & safety reasons, all babies and children who are not potty trained must wear a swimming nappy when using the pool.

The Duty Lifeguard's decisions on access and usage are final.
