Art, Music and Theatre Visit the many private studios and galleries, not forgetting those of the Newlyn and St. Ives artists, and the Tate Gallery in St. Ives. Throughout the year there are many music festivals in Cornwall, and local pubs, such as the Smugglers' between Hayle and Helston, regularly offer live music. The picturesque, cliffside Minack Theatre is also within easy driving distance. History and Technology There is a wealth of historic sites locally ranging from the ancient fogou of Carn Euny, the hut circles of Chysauster, the Men-an-tol stone and Lanyon Quoit to Pendennis Castle near Falmouth, to the steam engines of Trevithick in Camborne and to the tin mines of Botallack and Geevor. Modern technology also has its place with the Porthcurno Museum of Submarine Telegraphy and the Goonhilly Earth Station on the Lizard near Helston. Coves and Villages Visit the unspoilt coves and villages of Mousehole (of cat fame), Lamorna Zennor, Sennon, and many others, whilst soaking up some of the magic of Cornwall. Family Attractions For family days out, take a trip to Land's End, the most westerly point on the mainland, the Lizard point, the most southerly, Flambards Theme Park, Paradise Park or to St. Michael's Mount. Alternatively, see this fabulous region from the air by taking a scenic flight from St. Just around the coast or a day trip to the Isles of Scilly from either St. Just or Penzance. Gardens With its wonderful year-round temperate climate, Cornwall boasts some of the most spectacular gardens. Be sure to visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trebah Gardens, the Trevarno Estate and Gardens and of course, the world famous Eden Project at St. Austell. Sport A
